Table knives and cutlery
Knives and cutlery are covered by a 5-year guarantee against manufacturing faults and defects.
What the warranty covers
The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials identified during normal use in accordance with the maintenance recommendations.
After-sales service and repairs
Our workshop provides after-sales service and repairs for your knives. Depending on your requirements, our cutlers can, amongst other things, carry out the following:
- sharpening and honing
- polishing
- overhaul and refurbishment
- the necessary repairs
2. Exclusions from the warranty
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse or improper maintenance.
Normal wear and tear
In particular, the following are not covered:
- the natural wear and tear of parts and components
- normal wear and tear on the cutting edge resulting from use and successive resharpening
Inappropriate or misuse
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from use that is not in accordance with the knife’s intended purpose, in particular where the blade is used:
- as a screwdriver
- as a can opener
- to use as leveragepour faire levier
- or for any other use that may subject the blade or mechanism to abnormal stresses
Impacts, external factors and poor maintenance
Damage resulting from a fall, impact, excessive exposure to heat or humidity, or improper maintenance is not covered by the warranty.
Particular care must be taken with wooden or horn handles, as these are natural materials that are sensitive to moisture, heat and temperature fluctuations.
Dishwasher washing
Washing in the dishwasher is strongly discouraged, and must not be done for knives with wooden or horn handles.
Heat, moisture, cleaning products and washing cycles can damage the handle, the blade and the knife’s mechanisms.
3. Care instructions
To maintain the quality, performance and sharpness of your knife, we recommend that you follow the advice below.
Cleaning
Wash your knife by hand using a slightly damp cloth or sponge, then dry it straight away.
You don’t wash a knife; you wipe it.
Avoid leaving the knife to soak or putting it away whilst it is still wet.
Maintenance of the mechanism
For folding knives, apply a few drops of a suitable oil to the moving parts on a regular basis to ensure they continue to work properly.
Maintaining the cutting edge
Regular maintenance will help keep your knife sharp for the long term.
We recommend regularly running the blade through a sharpening steel, supplemented, where necessary, by more thorough sharpening using a whetstone or a diamond sharpening steel.
How often you need to sharpen a knife depends on how often you use it and the type of food or materials you are cutting.
