Le Tarn folding knife

The Le Tarn folding knife is a handcrafted folding knife with a forced-lock mechanism, designed to combine robustness, functionality and elegance. It is fitted with a steel stop that stops the blade as it closes, thereby minimising the risk of damage to the cutting edge.

Inspired by the Tarn Valley and the richness of its terroir, this knife embodies the identity of a bountiful, authentic region with deep-rooted ties to traditional craftsmanship.

With its sturdy, perfectly sharpened blade, forged from high-quality steel, and its wide wooden handle offering an excellent grip, Le Tarn has been designed to be a true everyday companion, as pleasant to use as it is to look at.

A 14C28N stainless steel blade

The blade is made from 14C28N stainless steel, a martensitic chromium steel specially developed for professional and high-end cutlery applications.

This steel offers an excellent balance between edge retention, hardness, corrosion resistance and polishability.

The 14C28N is notable in particular for:

  • excellent cutting performance and edge retention
  • high hardness
  • excellent corrosion resistance
  • excellent polishability

It is particularly well suited to knives requiring a long-lasting cutting edge, good mechanical stability and excellent corrosion resistance, such as pocket knives, kitchen knives, hunting knives and fishing knives.

A robust design

The spring is made from Z20c13 stainless steel.

The blade and spring are 3 mm thick, whilst the plates are 1.5 mm thick, giving the assembly a sturdy and durable construction.

The handles of traditional knives are crafted from locally sourced wood, selected for their character and natural beauty. Each component thus helps to make your knife a unique item, which is both functional and authentic.

A knife built to last

Le Tarn folding knives come with a lifetime guarantee.

To ensure that they continue to function properly, retain their appearance and stay sharp over the years, it is recommended that you avoid prolonged exposure to damp. The knife must not be washed in the dishwasher.

A registered trade mark and model

The ‘Le Tarn’ brand and the model are registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
